WorshipNW 2020 near Salem, Oregon!!
WorshipNW is a ministry conference near Salem, Oregon. I’ll be joining the faculty and leadership team again this year. Come hang out with us February 28 & 29 if you’re in worship ministry and live in the PNW! Check it out at https://www.worshipnorthwest.com
I’m teaching three of the breakouts: Tech Talk – where we’ll take a look at some relatively simple worship technology tools and how to apply them; Planning Center Basics – an introduction and overview of the Planning Center Services website for the worship leader; and Follow the Leader – where we’ll discuss the challenges, responsibilities and opportunities that come from being both a leader and a follower, and some thoughts on how we can be better at both.
UPDATE! – The conference concluded yesterday and was a ton of fun and produced some great convos and connections! Below are more thorough descriptions of my classes and free downloadable .pdf files of the handouts I provided.
“In order for there to be leaders, there must also be followers. Many worship leaders are either volunteers or are in an associate role and are not the lead worship pastor. But even those who are leading their department will be in a position to be following the vision and direction of the lead teaching pastor and the elder board. This class will be a conversation about the challenges, responsibilities and opportunities that come from being both a leader and a follower, and some thoughts on how we can be better at both.“
“This class provides an overview of a variety of technology tools and resources. These are simple, relatively inexpensive options you can run from your tablet or phone. This is a very basic and introductory class designed to introduce you to some available options and how you might consider applying them. We’ll also talk about the purpose of these tools and how to discern their use and application from a leadership perspective.“
“An introduction to Planning Center for the worship leader. Planning Center Services is an on-line service planning and scheduling tool. This class will cover the basics of how to utilize the PCO website to add people, add songs, create plans, add media, send emails, etc. Time-permitting, we’ll look at the app. functionality as well.”
